A dangerous and unnecessary natural gas compressor station will be built in Franklin Township on the grounds of an active rock quarry where regular blasting occurs – unless we stop it!
You only have until this Thursday, April 27, to help stop construction of this unhealthy and unsafe natural gas compressor station by becoming an intervenor. Fortunately, it takes just five minutes to sign up. Instructions on how to do it can be found by following this link: http://bit.ly/2q7IgnF.
Becoming an intervenor gives you legal standing in the approval process for the compressor station sought by the Williams Company. Once you are an intervenor, your comments MUST BE ADDRESSED by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). Without intervenor status, FERC is required to read your comments and concerns, not address them directly.
Research shows that people living near compressor stations experience higher rates of asthma, heart attacks, and cancer. Locating a flammable natural gas compressor at an active quarry carries unknown dangers, and it certainly sounds like a terrible idea.
This compressor station will jeopardize the health of Franklin residents by exposing them to unnecessary air, water, and soil pollution. Do you really want to put your family’s health in the hands of a company that has been cited for violating environmental safeguards in the past?
We need as many intervenors as possible to shut down this risky project. If you haven’t done so already, please take five minutes to sign up today.
