Update: Township Youth Charged With Arson For High School Fire

A 16-year-old township resident has been arrested in connection with the Feb. 27 fire that briefly emptied out Franklin Township High School. An unoccupied car on Ray Street was shot at multiple times the evening of Feb. 25, police said. Township police received a call about gunshots at about 8:40 p.m., according to a release on the incident from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office. Two contracts worth $69,000 were approved by the Township Council at its Feb. 25 meeting. Unity Bank Provides $3.5 Million Loan For Township Church

St. Thomas Syro-Malabar Catholic Church of Franklin Township has received a $3.5 million loan and a $5,000 donation toward construction of its new church on Elizabeth Avenue.
