Update: Hundreds Ride In Tour De Franklin

About 660 ridders participated in the 2015 Tour de Franklin walk and ride benefitting the Franklin Township Food Bank, according to food bank executive director Frank Hasner.

Hasner said $62,000 was raised during the ride.

Elayne Glick, the food bank’s fundraising chairperson, said the turnout was “fabulous.”

“We’re really, really pleased with the turnout today and the amount of money raised,” she said. “It was a great event for us.”

Riders and walkers embarked from various points in the township, including the Senior/Community Center on DeMott Lane.

Afterword, participants were treated to lunch at the community center.

There were also several prizes awarded at the end of the ride:

  • Most Funds Raised by an adult:  Maureen Taylor, $1,163
  • Largest School Team:  Cedar Hill Preparatory School, 21 members
  • Largest Non-School Team:  Hillsborough Racquet Club Fitness, 43 members
  • Most Funds Raised by a Team:  HRC Fitness, $2,632
