‘Suspicious Man’ Reported At Franklin Middle School

Township police are “actively investigating” reports of a “suspicious person” on the perimeter of Franklin Middle School.

A Nov. 3 message from the township to FMS parents via NIXLE said that the man has been sighted over the past several days in the mornings and afternoons.

FTPD Lt. Phil Rizzo said that no children were approached by the man.

The man is described as being dark-skinned, 6′ to 6’2″, and between 20 and 30 years old.

An unfamiliar black sports car has also been reported parked in the area, according to the message.

FTPD Investigative Division and School resource Officers are instigating the matter, according to the alert.

Extra uniformed and plainclothes police officers have been deployed to the school, the alert said.

“While at this time there is no apparent threat to the safety and security of the school we ask that area residents and parents stay vigilant to suspicious behavior,” the alert said. ” If you see something suspicious or out of the ordinary contact the Franklin Township Police Department Dispatch Center immediately at 732-873-2300.”
