Police Investigating Two Late December Shootings; No Injuries

Township police detectives are investigating two shootings that occurred within two weeks of each other late last month.

No one was reported injured in either of the shootings, which left bullets in two homes.

At 4:31 p.m. on Dec. 17, the FTPD received a 9-1-1 call reporting shots fired in the area of Victor Street, police Sgt. Phil Rizzo said. Numerous patrol units responded, but they were not able to locate any evidence to substantiate the call, Rizzo said.

On Dec. 21, a Victor Street resident called headquarters to report bullet holes in her home, Rizzo said. The woman said that at about 6 p.m. on Dec. 17, she found two bullet holes in her adult son’s bedroom.

The woman told police that she waited to report the discovery because she was not sure of what to do, Rizzo said.

The second incident happened at about 10:31 p.m. on Dec. 29, Rizzo said. Officers responded to a “shots fired” call on Martin Street, where they found bullet holes in a home, he said.

Both incidents are currently under investigation by the Franklin Township Police Department Detective Bureau, Rizzo said.
