Township Resident Shot, Police Looking For Help

Police are investigating a July 17 shooting on Barker Road that left a township resident wounded.

A 9-1-1 call reporting the shooting was received by Franklin Township Police at about 5:29 p.m., according to a press release from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office.

FTPD detectives responding to the call found the unidentified victim, who was then taken to a local hospital for treatment. There was no information on the victim’s condition.

Detectives from Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes and Crime Scene Investigations Units joined FTPD detectives in the investigation, according to the release.

The shooting is the second gun-related incident reported in the township in a three-day time span. On July 14, gunshot damage was found to a King Road house.
