Bridgewater, NJ – The Somerset Patriots have acquired left-handed pitcher Kramer Sneed from the St. Paul Saints (American Association) for future considerations.
The 26-year old enters his first season with the Patriots. Earlier this season, Sneed made one appearance in the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim organization for Double-A Arkansas. He then moved on to St. Paul, where he went 15-3 with a 2.83 ERA over 20 starts. The 15 wins were tied for the league-lead in the American Association this year.
The New York Yankees originally drafted Sneed in 2010. The southpaw reached as high as High-A Tampa in 2011 and 2012 in three seasons with the Yankees.
Sneed spent parts of the last three seasons in the Angels organization, reaching as high as Double-A Arkansas in 2014 and 2015.
The Winterville, North Carolina native owns a career 36-38 minor league record with a 3.99 ERA and 487 strikeouts over 145 games (87 starts).
