Franklin PBA 154 Holds Annual Wine And Spirits Tasting Fundraiser

FTPD Sgt. Anthony Bisignano was the event chairman for the third annual Franklin PBA Local 154 Wine and Spirits Tasting fundraiser.

Franklin Township PBA 154’s annual wine and spirits tasting fundraiser has grown each year, and the event’s coordinator sees no reason for that trend to stop.

“Each year it’s grown, which we’re very happy about because it helps us give more and more to our community and beyond,” FTPD Sgt. Anthony Bisignano, the event’s chairman, said at the April 21 event.

This year saw about 400 people show up to The Marigold on Churchill Avenue for tasting and eating, he said.

“Everyone seems to be having a good time,” he said.

Bisignano said the amount of money the local has raised through the event has grown each year.

“The first year we raised $10,000, the second year we raised about $15,000, and we’re hoping to top that this year,” he said.

Attendees were able to sample a number of different domestic and foreign wines, as well as a variety of liquors.

The evening also featured a buffet dinner and dessert.

Money raised goes to support local organizations such as Little League teams, Boy Scout troops, the FTPD’s participation in the Police Unity Tour and to buy backpacks for township school children.

“We try to help out the town the most we can,” Bisignano said.
