Bridgewater, NJ – The Long Island Ducks (19-15) shutout the Somerset Patriots (23-11) 3-0 Saturday evening at TD Bank Ballpark in front of 6,971 fans. These two division rivals split the four game set.

Long Island added a run in the top of the eighth inning as catcher Mike Blanke socked a RBI single to increase the lead to 3-0.
Andrew Barbosa earned the win (1-0) tossing seven scoreless innings while scattering just four hits and striking out 10 batters. Matt Zielinski endured the loss (1-1) as he gave up three runs on nine hits in seven innings of work. Closer Ryan Kussmaul notched the save (9) pitching a perfect ninth inning.
