Five township-based organizations have won Community Box seats for various games at TD Bank Ballpark in Bridgewater for the 2014 Somerset Patriots season.

The winning organizations, picked by Somerset County Freeholder Director Patrick Scaglione in a drawing, are: Elizabeth Avenue Volunteer Fire Company Station 26, Cub Scout Pack 113, Boy Scout Troop 195, Canal Walk Home Owners Association and the Franklin Township Food Bank.

The organizations were among 40 from throughout Somerset County to win the seats.

“Since the time the ballpark was constructed by the county, one 30-seat community box has been available for the benefit of nonprofits and community organizations,” Scaglione said in a release about the drawing. “This tradition allows us to showcase the amazing work being done by these organizations to improve the lives of Somerset County residents.”

Winners are nonprofits whose client base consists of at least 50 percent Somerset County residents or community organizations that are located in Somerset County or have a facility based in Somerset County that serves the citizens of Somerset County. Winners provide a significant community service or volunteer element to Somerset County residents, according to the release.
