Tiby Laufer, 89; Avid Tennis Player

Tiby Laufer of Somerset died July 19 at St. Peter’s University Hospital in New Brunswick. She was 89.

Born and raised in New York City, she lived in Queens, New York and West Orange before moving to Somerset 13 years ago.

Tiby was a loving wife and devoted mother who was an avid tennis player and loved reading and dancing. She also had a lifelong passion for classical and folk music.

Surviving are her husband of 62 years, Norman; son and daughter-in-law, Mark & Marina Laufer of New York City; daughter and son-in-law, Susan & Carl Goldberg of Somerset; and 4 granddaughters, Jessica (husband Jordan), Rachel, Marcy and Dana.

Family and friends are invited to the Gleason Funeral Home, 1360 Hamilton Street, at 10:30 a.m. July 23. Funeral service to be held at 11 a.m., burial to follow in King Solomon Memorial Park Cemetery, Clifton.
