Revolution Use Long Ball To Top Patriots 8-1

Bridgewater, NJ- The York Revolution (35-28, 63-70) defeated the Somerset Patriots (29-34, 71-62) 8-1 at TD Bank Ballpark on Sunday afternoon.

The Revolution took an early 2-0 lead in the first inning on an RBI groundout by Isaias Tejeda and an RBI single by Michael Burgess.

Chase Simpsons’ two-run home run (3) gave the Revolution a 4-0 advantage in the second inning.

York added a run in the top of the sixth inning on a Telvin Nash solo home run (15) to make the score 5-0.

Somerset got on the board in the bottom of the frame with a solo home run by Aharon Eggleston (4) to cut the lead to 5-1.

The Revolution answered in the top of the seventh inning on a home run by Travis Witherspoon (8) and an RBI groundout by Alonzo Harris for the 8-1 final.

Jay Gause (10-3) picked up the win, allowing a run on four hits in six innings pitched. Lucas Irvine (8-4) suffered the loss, allowing six runs on four hits in six innings pitched.
