Revolution Beats Patriots 6-1
York, PA – The York Revolution (21-13) defeated the Somerset Patriots (21-12) 6-1 from Santander Stadium on Thursday afternoon. York won two of the three games in this midweek series.
In the bottom of the first inning York plated a pair of runs to take an early 2-0 advantage. Second baseman Eric Patterson slashed a RBI single and designated hitter Johan Limonta socked a RBI double.
York added two runs in the home half of the second inning as shortstop Ofilio Castro and Limonta each tallied RBI singles.
Left fielder Aharon Eggleston slugged a solo home run (1) to cut the deficit to 4-1 in the top of the third inning.
The Revolution scored again in the bottom of the fifth inning as left fielder Jason Repko blasted a solo home run (1) to increase York’s lead to 5-1.
Center fielder Sean Smith hammered a solo home run (3) in the bottom of the sixth to expand York’s lead to 6-1.
Beau Vaughn (2-1) earned the win in relief. Matt Zielinski (3-1) suffered the loss tossing six innings and allowing a season-high six runs on 12 hits.
