Police Log: Sept. 18-19, 2013

Elizabeth A. Kuhn of Somerset was cited Sept. 18 for careless driving after she was involved in an accident on Hamilton Street.

Kuhn told police that she was adjusting her car’s radio while she was driving and did not see that a car ahead of hers, driven by Amit Kalra of Hillsborough, had stopped at the Berry Street intersection.

Brian Horn of Berry Street walked out to his parked car the morning of Sept. 18 to find a scratch on the driver’s side front fender and a note saying, “I scratched your car, sorry T.S.”

Police said there was yellow and black paint around the scratch.

Cars driven by Ryan Santopietro of Hillsborough and Bryan Nazaruk of Nutley colided Sept. 18 when they were both backing out of parking spaces at 24 Schoolhouse Road.

Both drivers told police they thought the way was clear for them to back up. Santopietro said his rear-view camera started beeping, and he tried to get out of the way of Nazaruk’s car but could not.

Arlene Brunson of Somerset told police Sept. 19 that her car was p in traffic on Franklin Boulevard, behind a car driven by Stephanie Barbarosh of Morristown, when her foot slipped off the brake. Brunson’s car then moved forward and hit Barbarosh’s.
