One person was reportedly shot to death in their car Oct. 22 while driving on Matilda Avenue.

Preliminary details were sketchy, but Franklin Township police and Somerset County Prosecutor’s detectives were on the scene late into the night.

Police have blocked Matilda from Franklin Boulevard to Ralph Street. An announcement from the Franklin Township PD said the road would probably still be closed during the morning rush on Oct. 23, so drivers should plan alternate routes.

A spokeswoman for the Prosecutor’s Office said that this was not an officer-involved shooting.
