Life Story: Susan Comstock Durand, 82; Was Active In Township Government

Susan Comstock Durand, 82, died peacefully, surrounded by loving family, March 21 at the Sussman Hospice House in Rockport, Maine.

Born in Lynn, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of Charles and Esther Johnson Comstock.

After marrying Charles Durand, Susan lived much of her life in New Jersey.  She earned her Master’s Degree from Rutgers University and worked for over 40 years as a chemist for Bristol-Meyers-Squibb.

In her younger years, Susan was active in town government in Franklin Township.  She always loved her time spent in Maine and living on Islesboro.

Susan will be sadly missed by her loving family and many friends.

She will be laid to rest privately in Wilton, Connecticut.

Arrangements are in the care of Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock Street, Rockland, Maine.
