Life Story: Robert DiCorcia, 64; Volunteer EMS, RU 911 Dispatcher

Robert Francis DiCorcia passed away on Oct. 19 at age 64.

A graduate of Rutgers University, Bob was known for his pride and passion in serving others as a volunteer ambulance corps EMT, volunteer firefighter, and member of the volunteer Coast Guard Auxiliary. He served as the President of SCARS (Somerset County Ham Radio Society as an auxiliary to the County Department of Emergency Management in the 1990s). He worked for Hewlett Packard/ADT for 20-plus years and as a 911 dispatcher at Rutgers University.

He was pre-deceased by his parents, Frank DiCorcia and Nicasia (Terrie) DiCorcia Graziadio, loving stepdad Frank Graziadio, and brother Dominick DiCorcia. He is survived by his aunt Filippa (Phyllis) Montobbio, uncle Peter (Marie) Muriello, cousins; Carole (Jim) Aylward, Jo-Ann (Fred) Koch and children, Joann (Stan) Benson and children, Mark Muriello, MaryAnn Muriello, Peter (Jeanne) Muriello and children, Goddaughters, DiCorcia Family cousins, and friends.

Family and friends may call from 1-3 p.m. Dec. 3 at the Gleason Funeral Home, 1360 Hamilton St., Somerset. On Dec. 4, family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Matthias Church, 168 John F. Kennedy Boulevard in Somerset. The time of mass will be announced at www.gleasonfuneralhome.com Interment will follow immediately at Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum, 899 E. Lincoln Ave., Piscataway, New Jersey.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice in Bob’s memory.
