Life Story: Marion E. Boekhout, 87; Avid Gardener, School Bus Driver

Mrs. Marion Boekhout, 87, passed away Jan. 11.

Born in Franklin Township to Percy and Ruth Smith, Marion lived in Belle Mead before settling in Franklin Park in 1953. She was a long time member of Six Mile Run Reformed Church, where she sang in the choir for many years. Mrs. Boekhout drove a school bus for Twin County Bus Service in South Brunswick for over 40 years.

An avid gardener, she also loved tatting and crocheting.

Mrs. Boekhout was predeceased by her husband, Garry in 2010, and by her son Warren in 2016.

She is survived by her daughter Beverly Troichuk and her husband Guy, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Jan. 17 at the Gleason Funeral Home, 1360 Hamilton St.

The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Jan. 18 at Six Mile Run Reformed Church, 3037 Route 27, Franklin Park.

Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery in East Millstone.
