Life Story: Catherine Bedi, 100; Loved Music And Shopping

Catherine C. Bedi (nee Doerr), 100, died Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at Regency Heritage Care Center in Somerset.

Mrs. Bedi was born December 19, 1917 in New Brunswick to the late Charles and Catherine (Raab) Doerr. She lived in both Highland Park and North Brunswick for many years before moving to Somerset.

Catherine loved music, shopping, fashion, and traveling, especially to the Poconos. Above all she valued time spent with her friends and family. She was affectionately known as “Kat Kat” and “Aunt Kitty” by her family and friends.

Mrs. Bedi was predeceased by her spouse, James Bedi; her brothers, William, John, Harold, Joseph and Charles Doerr and her nephews, Robert and John Doerr.

She is survived by her nieces, Barbara Adams and her husband Bill, Nancy Kauchick and her husband Scott, JoAnn Hussey and her husband Rick, Donna Guion and her husband Ed, Kathy Doerr, Carol Laengle and her husband Frank, Joyce Angersbach and her husband Ray and Janet Geisner; her nephews, John Doerr and his wife Laura, Terry Doerr, Edward Doerr and his wife Judy, John Palinkas and his wife Marcy; and many great and great-great nieces and nephews and friends.

Family and friends may visit on Saturday, July 14th from 9-10:30 A.M at Gleason Funeral Home 1360 Hamilton St.

Funeral services will begin at 10:30 A.M on Saturday at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery in New Brunswick.
