In Your Opinion: Quail Brook Senior Center Saved My Life
By Deborah Gibson.
I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis at the age of 55 and declared disabled on January 8, 2008; for the last eight years, I’ve been very sick and depressed.
One day in March of this year, I received information on all the services available for seniors/the disabled from Somerset County Office on Aging & Disability Services. That was the first day of changing my life! I called the Quail Brook Senior Center and spoke with the manager, Allyson Toth, who made arrangements with Somerset County Transportation for me to attend the center, participate in all the programs and stay for lunch on April 4, 2016. From that day on, Allyson and her staff made me feel a part of the Quail Brook Senior Center family.
Since coming to the Quail Brook Senior Center, I haven’t been sick or crippled once. I take part in all exercise programs which has made my doctors very happy with my progress and the new me and so am I. In looking back, I had no idea just how bad my depression was until I came to the Quail Brook Senior Center.
You have all saved my life! Thank you QBSC.
