The Franklin Township Food Bank’s annual “GOLF fore GROCERIES” will be held July 18 on the west course of the Royce Brook Golf Club in Hillsborough. Golfers, non-golfers, and supporters can participate and help the Food Bank serve the growing number of hungry people in the community.

Golf is a scramble format beginning at 1 p.m. on the Royce Brook’s exclusive west course, rated by Golf Digest as one of the top 20 courses in New Jersey. Included with golf are beverages, BBQ lunch (served at noon), and award ceremony at The Palace in Somerset Park, 333 Davidson Avenue, at 6:30 p.m.

The evening includes a premium open bar cocktail reception, buffet and silent auction. The cost for the day is $155 per person or $570 for a foursome. Non-golfers can attend the evening event at the Palace for $65. Non-golfers can purchase a table of 10 for $585, the 10th dinner is free.

The Palace in Somerset Park is co-sponsor of the day. Additional sponsorships for all budgets are available.

Registration is available for golf, the dinner and sponsorships. To sponsor or learn more about the Franklin Food Bank, visit their website, www.FranklinFoodBank.org. Please contact the Food Bank with any questions at 732-246-0009.

This is the third year the Food Bank has held the golf outing. In 2015 the Food Bank provided groceries to 2,000 families and processed over 1 million pounds of food in their warehouse.

Frank Hasner, Director of the Food Bank, said “This annual event is an opportunity for neighbors to help neighbors. The golf outing is one of the Food Bank’s largest fund raisers of the year. Everyone has a wonderful time, and it is such a great feeling knowing that you are helping your neighbors in their basic need of putting food on the table for their families.”
