Girls’ STEM Program Accepting Applications

BRIDGEWATER – Girls in grades 7 and 8 are eligible to apply for the Commission on the Status of Women’s fourth annual STEM program, set for Oct. 26 at the Somerset County Vocational & Technical High School located on Vogt Drive.

The deadline to apply for the event, which will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., is Oct. 4.

The STEM program is specifically designed to encourage and prepare 7th- and 8th-Grade girls for successful careers in the fields of science, technology, engineering and math.

The girls will also have the chance to interact with a panel of successful STEM women who will provide insights, answer questions and discuss possible mentoring opportunities.

Participants will play educational games, win prizes, interact with mentors who are successful STEM members, and enjoy a lunch that will be provided at the event. The free event is open to Somerset County residents only.

This event is organized by the Somerset County Commission on the Status of Women and is sponsored by ExxonMobil, RWJBarnabas Health and Bricks 4 Kidz.
