‘Gettin’ the Band Back Together’ Opens at George Street Playhouse

A fast-paced story of a Jersey Boy’s reclamation of a teenage dream officially opens Oct. 4 at the George Street Playhouse, 9 Livingston Ave., New Brunswick.

“Gettin’ the Band Back Together” is the story of Mitch, a 40-year-old recently laid off from his Wall Street job, who’s forced to return to his childhood home of Sayreville. Once there, he reunites with his boyhood band mates for an epic Battle of the Bands.

The show runs through Oct. 27 and features Heather Brave, Evan Daves, Michelle Duffy, Ryan Duncan, Alison Fraser, Deidre Goodwin, Christopher Gurr, Mitchell Jarvis, Jay Klaitz, Garth Kravits, Adam Monley, Emily McNamara, Manu Narayan, Tad Wilson and Brandon Williams.

Book is by Ken Davenport and The Grundleshotz, music and lyrics by Mark Allen, additional material by Sarah Saltzberg, choreography by Kelly Devine and directed by John Rando.
