Firefighters, EMS Honor Fallen Comrades At 9-11 Ceremony

The annual Sept. 11 remembrance of firefighters and other first responders killed during the 2001 terrorist attacks was held at St. Matthias Church, John F. Kennedy Boulevard.

Firefighters and EMS personnel from throughout the township gathered for the annual event. An NJ State Police color guard also attended.

During the event the names of firefighters, police and EMS staff who were killed during the attacks, and who have died from illness caused by the attack’s aftermath, were read.

The ceremony was capped by the presentation of a wreath.
