Barnstormers Force A Decisive Game 5 On Late Grand Slam

92714Bridgewater, NJ – The Lancaster Barnstormers (2-2) rallied past the Somerset Patriots (2-2) 4-3 Saturday evening in Game Four of the Liberty Division Series from TD Bank Ballpark. The best-of-five series is now even at 2-2. Pinch hitter Yusuke Kajimoto’s grand slam in the top of the eighth inning stood to be the difference.

 

In the bottom of the first inning designated hitter Jake Fox recorded a RBI groundout as the Patriots grabbed a 1-0 lead.

 

The Patriots plated a pair of runs in the home half of the sixth inning to expand their lead to 3-0. Second baseman Jeff Dominguez tallied a RBI for the third straight game as his single scored first baseman Daryle Ward. Pinch hitter Aharon Eggleston hit a RBI sacrifice fly later in the inning.

 

Kajimoto had been 1-for-7 in the postseason and had just four homers in the regular season before be belted the pinch hit go ahead grand slam.

 

Pete Andrelczyl (1-0) earned the win in relief. Daniel Herrera (0-1) suffered the loss in relief. Jason Urquidez notched the save (2) pitching a scoreless final frame.
