Ad-Hoc Committee Formed to Reconstitute Hamilton Street Business & Community Corp.

Brian Levine

Mayor Brian Levine said the Hamilton Street Special Improvement District Ad-Hoc Committee will create a new structure for the organization.

An ad-hoc committee charged with reconstituting the Hamilton Street Business & Community Corp. was created by the Township Council at its Nov. 26 meeting.

Appointed to the committee were Mayor Brian Levine and councilmen Brian Regan (At-Large), James Vassanella (Ward 5) and Carl R.A. Wright (Ward 4).

The committee will make recommendations on a “new structure” for the corporation, Levine said.

The former corporation was dissolved earlier this month after it was discovered that Board of Trustee members had not been properly elected for years.

One of the casualties of that revelation was Mike Pappas, the corporation’s former executive director.

Pappas’ job was terminated; Pappas declined to comment.

The council also voted to authorize township manager Robert Vornlocker to pay bills associated with the corporation and the Hamilton Street Special Improvement district.
