The Quail Brook Senior Center is the beneficiary of a free concert 7:30 p.m. by the Whitehouse Wind Symphony at Franklin High School, 500 Elizabeth Ave.
The benefit concert will be the symphony’s season kick-off.
The concert, sponsored by the Somerset County Office on Aging and Disability Services, will feature refreshments and a free-will offering. Proceeds will go to teh senior center.
The Whitehouse Wind Symphony “is dedicated to presenting the best of the Wind Band literature,” according to the symphony’s Web site. “The Wind Symphony prides itself on performing much of the classic band literature but also exploring literature from the late 20th and early 21st Century. On many occasions, the Wind Symphony will perform selections written expressly for the band by current band members.”
The symphony, under the direction of James P. Sheeley Jr., is comprised of musicians from New Jersey, New York City and Easter Pennsylvania.
The Quail Brook Senior Center is one of seven county-sponsored senior centers.
