The Franklin Township Municipal Youth Services Commission was recently awarded a $5,000 grant from the Somerset County Freeholders.
The money will be used for the commission’s Youth Council, Franklin Youth Prevention and Empowerment and Boys Council programs, according to a release about the award.
The grant was one of 21 given to youth services commissions throughout Somerset County. In total, $90,000 in annual awards and competitive grants were given by the freeholders.
“The Board of Freeholders is pleased to present funding for so many worthwhile, fun and educational programs for county youth,” Freeholder Director Mark Caliguire said in the release. “Funds will be used to support a wide variety of prevention programs for youth in these local communities.”
