Township Club Basketball Coach Charged With Child Endangerment

A 40-year-old township resident who served as a club basketball coach was charged March 25 with endangering the welfare of a minor.

The charge against the man, who police said was formerly a coach with the Central Jersey Havoc Basketball Club but left to form his own team, is a Second Degree crime, according to a press release from the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office.

The investigation was conducted by members of the Milltown Police Department and the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office, according to the release. Their investigation revealed that on multiple occasions between November 2020 and March 2021, the man engaged in inappropriate sexual conduct and communications with the minor victim.

The man was released on March 25 from the Middlesex County Adult Corrections Center, North Brunswick, after a detention hearing, according to the release.
