I am still reeling in shock now that I know the NFL focuses more on financial self-preservation than doing the right thing. No not really. How can you be surprised with sponsorships and TV deals, that selfishness worked its way in to the DNA of the NFL? This is an old story, told a different way.
To bring the story closer to home, last year several Board of Education members had ethic charges fired at them like SCUD missiles. Some got dropped by clever gamesmanship, but there are several still waiting for review. What is taking the School Ethics Commission so long to review them? People are critical of the NFL but they are far more nimble than the ethics board. I am not mentioning a name because that has nothing to do with my point.
I thought to reach out to the ethics board and see what is taking so long. I did not see the point. People more aware of the situation should be asking the question.
The point is the condition in question still exists on the school board. The school board itself is unable to openly discuss the issue. It is not fair to the taxpayer to not have a full understanding of what happened and there are no videos. They spent our money. All we still have is headlines. It is not fair to the people involved to have it hanging over their head all this time. Apparently, if any school board needs outside help they should not rely on the timely help from the ethics board.
