Life Story: Lawrence Resnick, 82; Former Star-Ledger Journalist

Lawrence Resnick, 82, passed away with his wife by his side on Sept. 7 at Parker Home in Piscataway.

Mr. Resnick was born December 28, 1935 in Hackensack to the late Morris and Shirley (Korman) Resnick. He grew up in Randolph and lived in Scotch Plains for 35 years, where he and his wife raised their family. In 2005, he settle in Somerset with his wife.

Lawrence graduated with a Bachelors degree from Brandeis University in Massachusetts. He was a journalist for the Star Ledger and various other newspapers. He was also a proud owner and operator of Resnick Distributors in New Brunswick.

Mr. Resnick is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Eileen Resnick; his children, Steven Resnick and his wife Marci, Lynn and her husband Apos, David Resnick and his wife Stephanie, Jonathan Resnick and his wife Alyson; his brother, Irving Resnick; his sister, Francine Abramoff and his six grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Sept. 9 at Gleason Funeral Home, 1360 Hamilton St. Rabbi Eli Garfinkle of Temple Beth El will be officiating. Burial will follow at Floral Park Cemetery in Monmouth Junction.
