Bridgewater, NJ – The Somerset Patriots (31-23) shut out the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs (19-33) 7-0 before a season-high 8,071 fans at TD Bank Ballpark on Friday evening.
Somerset starting pitcher Jeremy Horst (5-2) scattered just four hits in eight scoreless innings and struck out a team season-high ten batters for the win. He and Darin Gorski were tied for the previous season-high of eight strikeouts going into the game. At one point, Horst struck out five straight batters from the last batter of the first inning through the first batter of the third inning.
