Franklin’s Nile Uzzell in action Sept. 25 against Elizabeth High School.
Two missed extra points and an incomplete hail-Mary pass as time ran out led to defeat for the Franklin High School Warrior football team in their home opener Sept. 25.
The Warriors, 1-2, lost a heartbreaker to the Minutemen of Elizabeth High School, 14-12.
For the most part, Franklin’s defense dominated Elizabeth, which is now 3-0 with the win.
But the missed extra points in the second quarter, plus several turnovers on downs deep in Minuteman territory were too much for the Warriors to overcome.
