The Franklin High School Lady Warriors softball team was overwhelmed April 4 by Hunterdon Central, which exploded for 26 runs on 23 hits in a 26-2 victory in four innings.
Gabrielle Ciccone went two-for-two with a double, and Nala McMullen and Brooke Sachau went one-for-two in the Warriors’ effort.
The Lady Warriors did a fair amount of running on Hunterdon Central’s Sarah DeStefano, stealing seven bases, with Lisette Reyes stealing two.
Lady Warrior pitcher Julia Gabryszewski pitched all four innings, giving up nine walks and striking out three.
