- Someone entered a Jill Court home by cutting a screen. Nothing was taken.
- Andrew Bradley of Pennsylvania was driving on Cortelyous Road when his car was struck by one driven on Whitehall Lane by Laennese Wade of New Brunswick. Wade said she thought the road was clear.
Feb. 9
- The mailbox of a Garden Avenue home was damaged.
- Diva Johnson, 20, of Somerset, was arrested on an outstanding warrant from New Brunswick. Johnson was turned over to North Brunswick police.
- John Kamara of Somerset told police that he was driving down South Middlebush Road when he saw that a car driven by James Richer of Winslow was stopped. Kamara said he tried to stop, but his car slid on the snow and rear-ended Richer’s car.
- Shantia Carter of Somerset was cited for driving while suspended and careless driving after she was involved in a three-car collision on Easton Avenue. Police said Carter lost control of her car, after which it crossed over the center line and collided with a car driven by Saida Bonilla-Euceda of New Brunswick. Carter’s car continued out of control until it collided with a car driven by Yizheng Liu of Edison, the impact of which forced Liu’s car over the center line and into a curb. Liu was cited for driving an unregistered vehicle, driving without insurance and for operating with a learner’s permit without a supervising driver.
- Carlos Castro-Garcia of Bound Brook was cited for careless driving and driving without insurance after the plow truck he was driving struck a car driven on Cedar Grove Lane by Saurabah Singh of Somerset. Singh said his car was hit when the plow was turning from Treptow Road.
- Twinkal Gandhi of Piscataway was cited for careless driving after her car rear-ended a stopped car on Easton Avenue driven by Cynthia Nicol of Somerset.
Feb. 10
- About $2,300 worth of jewelry and electronics was stolen from a Holland Drive home. Police said someone entered the house and stole three yellow metal necklaces valued at $1,000, a Toshiba laptop computer valued at $500, a Samsung TV tablet valued at $400 and four pair of yellow metal earrings valued at $400.
- A woman stole $77 worth of Allegra and $49 worth of Nexium from a Route 27 business.
- Elizabeth Wilson of Chicago was cited for careless driving after her car rear-ended one on Easton Avenue driven by Donna Provenzano of Stockton. Wilson said she “zoned out” and did not notice that Provenzano’s car had stopped.
- Eliseo Touilla of Baltimore was cited for careless driving after her car rear-ended a car stopped on Highland Avenue and driven by Kenreic Vanloo of Somerset.
- A car driven by Javier Ferro of Somerset was turning right from Abbott Road to Johnson Road when it sideswiped a parked car driven by Dennis Kung, also of Somerset. Ferro said he did not see Kung’s car and his car may have slid on ice.
Feb. 11
- Larone Tashaune Tyus, 23, of Ewing, was charged with shoplifting after he allegedly stole a $1 container of Purell hand sanitizer from a Route 27 store, and allegedly assaulted a store security guard.
- Manuel Urgilez of Elizabeth was cited for failure to yield the right-of-way after his car collided on Hamilton Street with one driven by Raynold Francois of North Brunswick. Francois said he was driving on Hamilton when Urgilez’s car turned in front of his.
- Cindy Miranda-Huertas of Brooklyn was cited for careless driving and driving without insurance after her car collided with one on Route 27 driven by William Lyons of Kendall Park. Lyons said he was driving down Rt. 27 when Miranda-Huertas’ car pulled out in front of his.
Feb. 12
- A Holland Drive resident told police that she was taking a nap when she heard the blinds in the kitchen window being knocked around. She said a person had entered her apartment through the window. It was not reported if anything was stolen.
- Heather Ryan of Somerset told police she was driving down South Middlebush Road when a deer suddenly appeared on the road. Ryan said she swerved to avoid the deer, lost control of her car and then struck a utility pole, splitting it in half.
- Paulette Gaynor-Harunah of North Brunswick was cited for failure to yield the right-of-way after her car was involved in an accident with a car driven on Route 27 by Usha Annangar of Monmouth Junction. Annangar was driving down Rt. 27 when police said, Gaynor-Harunah’s car pulled out in front of hers.
- Earl Gonzalez Jr. of Edison was cited for leaving the scene of an accident and failure to report an accident after his car struck a deer on Randolph Road. Police said Gonzalez said he left the scene because he had to go to the bathroom.
Feb. 14
- The front door of a Hillview Avenue home was forced open. Nothing was reported stolen.
- A laptop computer valued at $1,700 was stolen from a car parked on Wheeler Place.
- An Emerson Road resident told police that someone had entered his garage, then broke the glass on an inner door leading into his home. The glass was valued at $100.
