A Bound Brook man faces several weapons-related charges after he was allegedly found with a 45-caliber handgun and hollow-nose bullets.
Isaiah Wilson, 25, was arrested at about 4:30 p.m. May 23 after he was stopped by members of the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Organized Crime and Narcotics Task Force and the Franklin Police Department in the area of Martin Street and Shevchenko Avenue, according to a press release from the prosecutor’s office.
The units had been conducting a “quality of life” investigation in the area when they received a tip that Wilson had a handgun, according to the release.
Wilson was stopped while walking in the area at about 4:25 p.m., according to the release. He was seen carrying an open container of alcohol and, after questioning, was found to have a Springfield XDS .45 caliber handgun in the waistband of his pants, according to the release.
Wilson was charged with 2nd Degree Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, 2nd Degree Certain Persons not to Possess Weapons, and 4th Degree Possession of Hollow Nose Bullets, according to the release.
Wilson was detained at the Somerset County Jail, Somerville, until his release on May 24.
