Township Woman Seriously Injured When Struck By Car

A 36-year-old township woman was seriously injured Jan. 18 after she was hit by a car on Easton Avenue.

Police responding to a 9-1-1 call placed at 10:11 p.m. found Dorian Appling lying in the road at Easton Avenue and JFK Boulevard, suffering from serious head injuries, according to a press release from the Franklin Township Police Department.

Police said a 2005 Lincoln Navigator driven by Karen Gomora-Molina, 22, of Somerset, struck Appling in the northbound lane of Easton.

Appling was taken to an area hospital by EMS personnel.

Easton Avenue was shut down for several hours during the initial investigation conducted by the FTPD Traffic Safety Bureau.

No charges have been filed as yet, according to the release.
