Township Police Seek Help In Identifying Burglar

Township police have turned to the public in their search for a man they believe burglarized a Hillcrest Avenue home on July 13.

The suspect is described as being a thin black man, 20-30 years old, about 5’11’ to 6’2’’ with a large tattoo on his neck and tattoos on both arms between his wrists and his elbows.

Police said security cameras in the home captured him rummaging through the home.

The homeowner reported that he was gone between 1:57 and 3:30 p.m., and that when he returned he found that the door leading to his basement damaged.

An inspection revealed that his bedroom was ransacked, and that jewelry and sunglasses valued at about $1,700 were taken.

In the video, the suspect was seen placing a silver handgun on the bed, police said.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Franklin Township Police Det. Drewrey Lea at (732) 873-5533 extension 3160 or at Drewrey.lea@twp.franklin.nj.us.
