Township Council Honors Bob LaCorte For Volunteer Work

Bob LaCorte, right, looks on as Mayor Phil Kramer reads the Township Council commendation honoring him for his work in organizing the Memorial Day and Veterans’ day observances.

The organizer of the township’s Memorial Day and Veterans’ Day observances was honored Nov. 13 by the Township Council.

Bob LaCorte was given a commendation by the council for his “outstanding community service to the township” in donating “hundreds of hours and resources” to the two observances.

“When it comes time to get things done or to do something for the town, he never shirks the responsibility and has always been the for us,” Mayor Phil Kramer said.

LaCorte thanked the township staff who helped him with the projects, especially Saffie Kallon, the tonship’s special projects coordinator.

“The most important thing is giving back to the community, our veterans, those who are here, those who have passed, and just to say thank you to them,” he said.

“I just want to thank you all for the commendation, and we’ll continue,” he said.
