Second Fake Gun Found On FHS Student

Franklin High School officials have once again found a fake gun in a student’s possession.

At about 1:30 p.m. Dec. 14, an “alert teacher” at the high school saw a 14-year-old male student put what she believed to be a handgun in his backpack, according to a press release from the Franklin Township Police Department.

The teacher contacted security and the School Resource Officer, who responded and removed the student from his classroom, according to the release.

The object was found and determined to be an obvious fake, the release said.

The student was placed under police custody and ultimately released to a parent, the release said.

Police said there was never any threat to the students. The incident is under investigation.
