Updated: School Board Seeks To Fill Vacancy

Applications are due April 1 from those interested in filling out the Board of Education term vacated by Richard Arline, who resigned earlier in March.

Updated: Here are the candidates for the open Board of Education seat:

  • John Kinghorn, Weston Road
  • Laurie Merris, Wilson Road
  • Joshua Ruszkiewicz, Fir Court
  • Richard Seamon, Rue Chagall
  • C. Kelly Zehr, Ari Drive.

The candidates will be interviewed by the board during a special meeting at 7 p.m. on April 13.

Those interested in being considered for the board must submit a letter and resume of interest to the board’s interim business manager, Arlene Biesiada at 1755 Amwell Rd. in Somerset.

The term lasts through Jan. 7, 2016.

To be eligible you must be at least 18 years old, a township resident for at least one year, a U.S. citizen and not disqualified from holding public office or from voting, and be a registered voter in the township.

Arline resigned in mid-March because he is relocating out of the state.
