RVCC To Hold General, Career, Adult Information Sessions In July

Learn about all Raritan Valley Community College (RVCC) has to offer by attending an Information Session in July at the College’s Branchburg campus. The College is offering General Information Sessions as well as special sessions for adults and those interested in its Automotive, Cosmetology and Esthetics (Skin Care) career programs.

General Information Sessions and campus tours are scheduled for Wednesdays, July 11 (10-11 a.m.), July 18 (4-6 p.m.), and July 25 (10-11 a.m.), in the Atrium Lounge (lower level, College Center).

During the sessions, RVCC Admissions specialists will provide information about:

  • Enrolling in classes for the Fall Semester beginning August 29
  • Programs designed to help students transfer to top colleges and universities in New Jersey, across the country, and even in Europe
  • Career training programs, designed in partnership with local industry, that can be completed in a year or less
  • The admissions process

In addition, RVCC will offer Information Sessions for its Beauty and Automotive Technology programs on July 11. Information Sessions for the Cosmetology and Esthetics (Skin Care) programs will be from 5-6:30 p.m., and an Automotive Information Session will be held from 3-4 p.m. The Information Sessions will be held in RVCC’s new Workforce Training Center.

During the Automotive Information Session, participants learn about RVCC’s program, meet with staff and faculty, and explore the exciting career potential in the field of Automotive Technology. The Auto Tech program offers Subaru and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) manufacturer training. Program graduates attain additional industry credentials from Automotive Service Excellence (ASE), Mobile Air Conditioning Society (MACS), Snap-On, and other industry partners to allow students to stand out to potential employers. Session, participants learn about RVCC’s programs in Cosmetology and Esthetics (Skin Care) as they view and participate in hands-on hair demonstrations, meet the programs’ director, take part in a question-and-answer segment, and apply for either program. RVCC’s Cosmetology and Esthetics programs feature an accomplished teaching staff, innovative teaching methods, and opportunities for job shadowing and salon practicum. The programs offer proactive job placement for graduates. The next daytime Cosmetology program will be offered August 29, 2018-June 11, 2019. The next daytime Esthetics program will be offered July 30, 2018-January 2, 2019. A special Adult Information Session for non-traditional age students who are considering returning to college or have never attended college will be held Monday, July 16, from noon-12:30 p.m., in the RVCC Conference Center, Room 101. Aside from general admissions information, the session will focus on transferring college credits, earning credits for life experience, and making a successful transition back to school after being away from the classroom for years.
