Rose Bohlman, Lifelong Township Resident

Rose Bohlman passed away peacefully on July 31, 2016 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital with her closest friends and RWJ family by her side.

Rose, born in Bronx, New York, was a lifelong resident of Franklin Park. She attended SUNY: Fredonia and enjoyed her college years with her friends Kay Robinson and Margaret Boyd. Rose was an employee of Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital for 31 years and served in the role of Employment Manager and most recently Human Resources Manager. During her tenure at RWJ, she served an integral role in labor relations, employee relations and was a participant of many projects in the organization. The Human Resources team was most fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with Rose over the years and she will not be forgotten.

Rose was the daughter of the late Richard and Mae Bohlman. She is survived by her cousins, Lillian Scoda and her husband John, Suzanne Whalen and her husband Jay, John Straub and Julianne Scoda and her lifelong friends, Margaret Boyd and Kay Robinson. She leaves behind many dear friends and colleagues at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital.

Rose thoroughly enjoyed working at the hospital and was a resource to new members of the Human Resources team and the leadership in the organization. She thoroughly enjoyed Tab soda, onion dip, potato chips and chocolate. She was an avid reader, loved Big Bang Theory and Law & Order, played double deck pinochle, enjoyed shopping, and spending time with her RWJ friends.

There were no limits to her generosity – she donated PTO time to fellow employees in need, donated to the hospital sponsored clothes/food drive, and over the years donated countless Christmas gifts to children through the hospital sponsored holiday toy drive and community outreach programs.

Viewing hours will be from 4-8 p.m. at Gleason Funeral Home, 1360 Hamilton St., Somerset. A service will be held at 7 pm.

To continue her passion of giving, it is requested that donations be made in her memory in lieu of flowers to: Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Foundation- Community Outreach, 10 Plum Street Suite 910, New Brunswick NJ 08901. Donations will be used for RWJ community outreach programs.
