Police Log: Dec. 9, 2013

Police shieldHector Homblert of North Brunswick told police that he was driving down Easton Avenue, near John F. Kennedy Boulevard, when a deer ran into the street and hit his car.

Andrei Ferents of Somerset was cited for careless driving after the car he was driving on Runyon Avenue suddenly veered into a parked car owned by Joseph Hunter, also of Somerset. Ferents told police he did not know why his car veered off the road.

Myles Winn of Somerville told police that his car was traveling in stop-and-go traffic on Route 27 at about 5 m/p/h/ when his dog jumped from the back seat to the front seat. Winn said he was distracted, and his car bumped into one in front of his driven by Frank Ortolano of North Brunswick. Police noted that it was not clear if the damage to teh cars – described as a few scratches – was due to the fender-bender.
