Photos & Video: 300 Run, Walk To Raise Awareness Of And Money To Fight Breast Cancer

About 300 people ran and walked Oct. 7 to raise money for a township organization that helps women suffering from breast cancer.

The 12th annual Sisters Network of Central New Jersey’s Breast Cancer Awareness Race/Walk 4Life, held in Colonial Park, featured a timed 5K race and a 1-mile walk challenge.

According to the organization’s web site, the event raise more than $20,000 in donations alone.

“In addition to supporting many community breast health awareness programs, funds raised from this event support our nonprofit’s Breast Cancer Assistance Program (B-CAP), which provides emergency breast cancer related services for qualified women during chemo and radiation treatments,” according to the web site.

The all-day event also featured a variety of food trucks and entertainment from the Inspira Performing Arts & Cultural Center of New Brunswick.
