Photo Gallery: Middle School’s ‘Annie Jr.’ Used As Fundraiser For Township Food Bank

The cast of “Annie Jr.”, running at Franklin Middle School through April 19, is using the performances as fundraisers for the Franklin Township Food Bank.

The idea for the fundraiser was spurred by the Franklin High School cast of “Jekyll & Hyde,” which raised $3,000 for the food bank over five performances earlier this year.

Complimentary tickets to the play were given to the food bank for its clients, according to a press release about the musical.

The musical is based on the comic strip “Little Orphan Annie,” about an orphaned girl who is taken in by a billionaire in 1930’s New York City. The musical stars 7th grader Maleah Moon as Annie.

The final performance of “Annie Jr.” is set for 2 p.m. April 19 in the middle school gym. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students.
