Patriots Players To Wear Special Jerseys For Troops Overseas On July 3rd

73shoeboxBRIDGEWATER, NJ – Somerset Patriots ballplayers will take the shirts off their backs to help support US troops deployed overseas following their Sunday, July 3rd game against the Bridgeport Bluefish.

 

Operation Shoebox New Jersey will sell chances for fans to win the specially-designed patriotic game-used uniforms during the Patriots game at TD Bank Ballpark, Bridgewater. Gates open at 6 p.m.

 

Fans can buy tickets on the concourse and drop them in canisters with the players’ names and uniform numbers. A winner will be drawn from each canister. Charge cards will be accepted.

 

A drawing will be held for each player’s jersey in the late innings of the game, with winners’ names posted at the display table on the concourse behind Section 201; those with winning tickets will be given the players’ red, white & blue jerseys on the concourse after they have been signed by the players in the clubhouse.

 

All monies raised during the uniform auction will be used by Operation Shoebox New Jersey to pay the postage for shipping the care packages overseas.

 

Operation Shoebox New Jersey, a non-profit volunteer organization that has been shipping personal care packages overseas for 11 years will also sponsor a patriotic fireworks display at the conclusion of the game to celebrate America’s 240th birthday.

 

Operation Shoebox New Jersey volunteers will also help fans sign up for the 2016 Victory Campaign which helps to finance the care packages; fans can also participate in the 50-50 raffle.

 

All donations are tax deductible. Operation Shoebox New Jersey is a 501C3 non-profit corporation.
