Patriots Drop Regular Season Finale To Revs 7-3
Postseason Begins Wednesday Against Long Island
York, PA – The York Revolution (40-29, 64-75) defeated the Somerset Patriots (39-30, 89-50) 7-3 Sunday afternoon at Santander Stadium to conclude the 2015 regular season.
In the bottom of the first inning designated hitter Andres Perez pounded a RBI double to give York a 1-0 advantage.
Catcher Salvador Paniagua slugged a two run home run (7) to up the Revolution lead to 3-0 in the bottom of the second inning.
York exploded for four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to grab a 7-0 lead. Shortstop Robert Andino committed a throwing error that led to a run. Both center fielder James Simmons and left fielder Nick Ferdinand stroked while singles while second baseman Eric Pattersion golfed a RBI double.
The Patriots cut the deficit to 7-3 in the top of the seventh inning. Third baseman Greg Hopkins laced a two RBI single and another run crossed on an error by Ferdinand.
Matt Neil earned the win (4-8) tossing six innings while allowing three runs. Will Oliver suffered the loss (6-2) hurling five frames while giving up three runs.
