Pagan Leaves School District For New Position
After seven years with the school district, interim schools Superintendent Evany Pagan is moving on to another position.
Pagan, who was assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction before taking on the interim role at the beginning of February, next week will become the assistant superintendent of schools for the Passaic school system.
The Hillsborough resident said her leaving was “bittersweet.”
“I’ve learned a lot here,” Pagan said after the March 27 Board of Education meeting, her last. “I really love Franklin.”
“The staff here is, bar none, phenomenal,” she said. “They are committed to the students. They really want to see the students grow.”
“It was an honor to grow with them and work with them,” Pagan said.
Board vice president Eva Nagy said the board wanted to “thank her for all her hard work and dedication to our school district. We wish her a lot of luck.”
“I know she will take a bit of Franklin with her,” Nagy said.
Somerset resident Myra Mitchell, a frequent critic of the school board and administration, wished Pagan well in her new job.
“I hope that as you move on to your next endeavor, you’ll be the kind, compassionate person I’ve gotten to know over the last two months,” Mitchell said.
The board has named LeRoy Seitz as the new interim schools Superintendent. His will assume that post on March 29.
