Nine Run Inning Leads To 12-1 Blowout Win For York

Bridgewater, NJ- The York Revolution defeated the Somerset Patriots 12-1 at TD Bank Ballpark on Tuesday evening.

 

The Revolution took a 1-0 lead when Justin Greene (1) led off the game with a home run on the third pitch.

 

York broke the game open with a nine run seventh inning, highlighted by a two-run double by Sean Smith, a two-run single by Jason Repko, and a three-run home run by Travis Garcia (4).

 

The Revolution added two more runs in the top of the ninth on an RBI double by Smith and an RBI single by Greene for a 12-0 lead.

 

Somerset’s lone run came on an RBI groundout by Corey Smith in the bottom of the ninth inning.

 

York starter Matt Neil (2-0) picked up the complete game win. Patriots starter Matt Zielinski (3-2) suffered the loss, allowing eight runs on eight hits in 6.1 innings pitched.
